Summary
The Accounts Payables Officer shall be responsible for processing all third party and internal vouchers, staff expense claims and coding of petty cash expenses.

Job Responsibilities
  • Generation of invoices in Oracle for approved vendor’s bills and staff claims as well as processing them in line with company’s policy.

·         Raising debit & credit notes and ensuring appropriate journal entries are made in respect of various transactions involving Intra-company, Intercompany and suppliers.
·         Processing withholding tax (WHT), value added tax (VAT) and Payroll Deductions.
·         Following up with banks for WHT receipt, credit note and evidence of filing of VAT with the FIRS
·         Cash office functions, including Daily Cash count and Float reimbursement
·         Monitoring of staff advances and informing the payroll department of long outstanding cash advances for recovery from staff salaries.
·         Carrying out Bank reconciliation, investigating and clearing all outstanding items
·         Reviewing bank charges and correspondence with banks on refunds.
·         Preparation of financial reports, schedules and proof of relevant accounts in the General Ledger.
·         Daily preparation of schedule of outstanding payments and seeking approval for payment.
·         Raising requisitions on Oracle for necessary approvals
·         Maintaining good documentation standards to ensure ease of retrieval
·         Other finance functions as may be assigned from time to time by the Financial Accountant
