Energy and Mining Job Vacancy at World Bank, Abuja


AFTEG (The Word Bank Africa Energy Unit) intends to recruit a Senior Energy Specialist for a position based in Abuja to support the in-country activities of the World Bank in Nigeria. The position reflects the Bank's growing work program in West Africa, in general, and particularly the increased support of the bank to the Nigerian Power sector reform. 
 Africa region energy program is rapidly growing with several operations under preparation and supervision

Current Bank Group staff members with a regular or open-ended appointment will retain their appointment if selected. All others will be offered renewable term appointments.
 

Job Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the selected candidate will be in the area of power and gas sector reform, utility investment programming, rural electrification, renewable energy and energy efficiency. Knowledge of related financial issues and instruments is desirable as well as familiarity with Oil sector issues in Nigeria. The selected candidate will travel frequently within Nigeria and throughout the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
