Job Description
The candidate shall be responsible for
- Developing mapping and prospect evaluation skills
- Participating in value adding meetings, presentations, exhibitions, conferences and lectures that enhance business and knowledge.
- Carrying out 3D seismic interpretation
- Building subsurface framework for geologic modeling
- Assisting other more experienced geoscientists in conducting surface and subsurface data analysis
- Obtaining exposure to field studies, Formation evaluation, well-site operations, Seismic data acquisition/ processing, Project management, New Field Development etc
- Developing the relevant skills in identifying and recommending drilling opportunities
- Participating in duties at well-sites
- Performing other duties as assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
The candidate is required to possess the following
- A Ph.D. or Masters degree in the Geosciences (Geology or Geophysics). Candidates who are expecting to obtain a Ph.D. or Masters degree by October 2011 may also apply
- A Bachelors degree with at least a second class upper in the Geosciences (Geology, Geophysics, or physics)
- Excellent computer skills
- A clear understanding of basic Geoscience concepts and principles
- NYSC discharge or exemption certificate
- Experience at a geoscience workstation will be an added advantage
